With the temperature dropping and winter taking over, many of us are dealing with dry and flaky winter skin. There are plenty of pick-me-up masks readily available that work wonders to improve skin texture but what’s better than having smooth and supple skin without breaking your bank. The weather can be cruel but with the right homemade mask, your skin can look as fresh as spring! Below are our top favourite face masks for fighting winter cruelty.

Milk cream and honey

Milk cream is one of the best ways to keep your skin moisturised during winter. Milk cream application can instantly make your skin soft and supple. Honey does wonders to help clear your skin of the bacteria that are responsible for the growth of pimples and acne on your face.

Here’s what you need to do:

- Take one tablespoon milk cream.

- Take one tablespoon honey.

- Mix them in a bowl.

Apply the mixture on your face and skin and leave it for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Pat your skin till it’s dry and see the result; your skin will feel moisturised like never before. Follow the regime regularly.

Cocoa butter and olive oil

Feel the richness of olive oil and cocoa butter by nourishing your skin with the mixture. The mixture works as an amazing moisturiser. Adding a dash of ginger paste it will help remove excess dirt from your skin.

- Take one tablespoon of cocoa butter.

- Take one tablespoon of olive oil.

- Take half teaspoon of ginger paste.

Banana and milk

Hydrate your angry winter skin with a combination of milk and banana. If you have oily skin then you can replace milk with rosewater. Banana helps in peeling off the dead skin and milk is a known clarifying agent, so in case your skin has lost the glow, you know what to do.

Here’s what you need to do:

-Take one whole mashed banana in a bowl.

-Add one tablespoon of milk.

-Mix the combination well.

Apply it on your face and neck and leave it for 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water.

Papaya and raw milk

Papaya is power-packed with essential nutrients and minerals that make your skin supple and soft. Milk, on the other hand, is rich in vitamin E, which adds moisture to dry and dull skin.

Here’s what you need to do:

- Take half ripe papaya and cut it into pieces.

- Add raw milk.

- Mash it with a fork and make a puree with a coarse texture.

Apply the pack on your face and neck and leave it until it becomes dry and wash it off with tap water.
